A rather good friend and esteemed blogger sent me some "get real" mail. It appears my stats be going up and up because she is waiting for Halloween pics. Well Susan (aka Suuuuu-ssssaaaaaan). Fear not! I have for you to behold, the most glorious of Halloween pics. Ok...so they are not as good as your monster pic (which was freakin' awesome) but you have inspired not only me, but Kathy as well for next year!
Halloween started off calmly as could be. I got out the orange torpedo lights to put on the front of the house. That was followed by the ghost lights, the ghost air globe with spinning bats and orange lights in the bushes. This was the precursor to the annual, "Should we rake the leaves first?" discussion with Kathy.
"No, let Mother Nature blow them down the street. My lower back is aching, so I think a good nor-easter should be blowing in," I reply.
"Oh those poor old people down the street end up with all the leaves in their yard and have to end up raking and they don't even have trees!" Kathy tries to guilt me into raking with this plea for the aged.
"Well that makes it even, they don't mow so at least this way they can get out and get some fresh air."
Eventually the raking gets done. Usually after Mother Nature did not deliver on the winds.
This transitions into Halloween parties at school.
This actually comes after the Trunk R Treat party where the kids go from car trunk to car trunk trick-r-treating. This year our associate priest dressed up as Monsignor. A visit from Monsignor quickly de-frocked the associate priest and he was seen back in his normal attire shortly thereafter. Danielle and Zach attended as a Vampireress and Darth Vader.
The night of Halloween the kids were excited and scored a great haul of candy. Kathy attempted to paint Danielle's face. But she forgot the advice of Tammy Fae Baker...."Don't forget the neck sweetie!" I put this picture of Zach and his buddy from the Boy Scout Halloween party. Unlike their movie mentors, these two get along great!
